Desperate Housewife!

Kim and I have been getting together every week to watch Desperate Housewives, lately. (Yes, I watch DH...get over it!) Usually she comes over here because my boys go to bed earlier than hers do. And, let's face it, I have fewer of them. Ha! Last night we decided to watch it at her house on their new, big, flat screen! DH in HD, baby! Well... I was driving on the dark back roads to her house when... I RAN OUT OF GAS!!!! (Are you freakin' kidding me!?) I pulled off to the side of the dimly lit road, just in time for the van to die completely and "@*%#!" to escape my lips! I then said a quick prayer for protection and reception and called Bryan to rescue me. (Notice the prayer came after the expletive. Whatever. Thank GOD for cell phones!) Fortunately, Bryan just happened to have a gas can with gas in it that he had gotten for the lawn mower! (I guess it's a good thing he didn't actually get around to mowing the lawn this weekend..!?) I said, "You'll have to wake up the boys and throw them in the car and bring me some gas! And, PLEASE HURRY!" (Not only was I not comfortable sitting on that dark road by myself, but DH was about to start! Ha ha!) Moments later, a cop pulled up behind me, which I was kind of expecting. I was on that road that is always teaming with cops, and I did pray for protection, after all! He came up to the window and said, "Is everything ok?" I said, "I ran out of gas!" By that point I was totally laughing! (What can I say? It's what I do.) He said to me, "Really? People still do that!?" Nice. He was actually very funny and very nice...and, as he was very quick to point out after checking my license...younger than me! (Thanks. He also liked my "soccer mom mobile"!) So, anyway, he stayed with me until Bryan got there and we talked Desperate Housewives! Turns out, he's a fan! Awesome. Kim just got Direct TV, so she was able to pause it till I got there. (Phew!) So, after my "Desperate Housewife" moment was over, we were able to settle in with some cheesecake and brownies and enjoy the show!

Awesome story..I love it! I mean I am sorry that happened to you and all, but it sure makes for great reading! :)
What I find really funny tho is that right after you swore..you prayed for just about everything but forgiveness!! :) hehehe
Well, you know I enjoy DH too..so no condemnation here sista. :)
I have found the show to be quite tame...and it is nothing like what it was made out to be!
Although, I did see the preview for next weeks epsiode and I thought it looked a little racier then normal! What's up with that?! I'm a bit nervous about that one.
But you don't even watch R rated movies...so who can judge you anyway...that practically makes you a nun these days! :)
Although..maybe if you didn't watch DH you wouldn't have ran out of gas...you surely wouldn't have swore! I'M KIDDING! :)

Ha ha! Yeah, what's funny is that they ALWAYS make the previews look WAY worse than the show actually is. So it's the people who have never even seen the show that think it's terrible. (It's actually not that bad.) AND I've found that everyone I know that watches DH AND Grey's Anatomy agrees that Grey's is racier than DH. All that to say, I don't care what people think. "He who is without sin, cast the first stone." ; ) (Yes, I know you were just kidding with me.)

Excellent story. I would have been scared too on a dark road by myself at night.

DH is lame. My issue with it is not that its racy but that it looks lame. I would rather watch a bunch of hard up young doctors than a bunch of hard up 40 year old women. personal preference I suppose.

Perhaps God was punishing you for watching DH and he tried to stop you from getting there. lol. I kid i kid.

I must say I have seen Grey's Anatomy twice and I thought is was BAD!!! I think I even blushed!!That is one show I choose not to get into. :) But, I know plenty of great Christians who love it. No judgement here! :)

Oh my goodness, you crack me up! You are tame compared to me. I probably would have used more than one expletive had I run out of gas at night all by myself :) You have incredible self control! I don't think DH is that bad. I have only seen it twice, but both times it was more funny than racy or trashy. Anyway, there isn't much on TV these days that isn't trashy except for Little House on the Prairie re-runs and you can only watch so many of those!!!
