A couple weeks ago, the boys and I drove over to Chelan with Linda, so she could buy some pears for canning. We all had a great time! We stayed over night in one of John and Linda's time share condos, so we had all the comforts of home...and then some! We played Rummikub, watched a movie, ate pop corn, used the hot tub, the boys played racquetball and Gavin even went swimming (briefly!) in the outdoor pool! (Oh yes...and we also bought fruit at various fruit stands!) We were so blessed to wake up the morning after we got there to gorgeous weather! Everything was so beautiful, it made me want to paint a picture! Brrrrrrrrrr!!!

Way to go, Kim!

We went to Portland this past weekend to support Kim as she ran in the marathon! (That's 26.2 miles, for those who don't know! Wow!) She did great! We were all so proud of her! She and Keri have been working so hard and diligently training together for so long! It was beautiful and special to watch them accomplish their goal! (Click on Kim's link, to the right, for more details and pictures.) Way to go, Kim! You are such an inspiration! I love you!

Skate Park

The boys had been begging me to take them to a skate park, so I thought I should make it happen before fall really set in! Plus, there is a tennis court at the park, so that was a perk for me! I love tennis but I hadn't played at all this summer. I'm not really sure that what we did that day was called "tennis", though! I'm sure we must have looked crazy...Kim and me and all six boys on one court...balls flying everywhere...everyone running in all different directions swinging rackets... It was pretty hilarious! We were cracking up! Needless to say, it was a very fun "recess"!

Do the Puyallup!

Bryan took a day off work so we could go to the fair! It was the first time we had gone to the fair as a family, so we were all very excited! It was a beautiful day and the boys had so much fun riding the rides! (As you parents can probably attest, it's difficult to get a good roller coaster picture! Ha! Even if it is just the little kid one!) Thanks for a fun filled day at the fair, "Dad"!

"When I grow up..."

Trevor is always asking me if he can be whatever he wants when he grows up. Of course, I say , "Yes! You can be whatever you want to be!" Usually he says he wants to be a golfer and would I please "sign him up" to be a golfer! The other day he said to me, "You know what I'm going to be when I grow up?" I said, "What's that?" He said, "What you are! A grown-up!" (Clever.) Then Gavin said, "You mean you're going to be a grown up that doesn't make money!?" Nice.

Gridiron Classic

Washington State played San Diego at Qwest field on Saturday. This was the second year in a row that we have gone to the "Gridiron Classic" with Zach and Kim. (We just learned that it's called that!) I think we are going to make it an annual tradition! It's so much fun being in the stadium with all those Coug fans! It's a sea of crimson! ...Laughing, cheering, eating garlic fries, critiquing the cheerleaders...and of course, there was a football game going on, too! (Coug's beat the Aztecs 45 to 17! See, don't I sound like I was paying attention!?) That's my man!
My sideways tattoo. Thanks, Kim. ; ) We wanted to get a picture of us in front of the beautiful city skyline. After attempting to take the picture ourselves, a crazy old man walked by and took my camera so he could take the picture for us! It was nice, funny, and scary, all at the same time! Ha! The picture turned out nice, didn't it, old creepy guy?

Football

Gavin chose to play flag football this year. I only got a couple pictures of his first game because we couldn't stay for it. (That's him in the center, hiking the ball and running up the middle!) We handed the boys off to Grandma and Grandpa (Bryan's parents) and then we were off to the
Coug's football game at Qwest Field...

Our Busy Weekend

Our busy weekend began with soccer practice on Friday night. (I had to go "mama bear" on a punk kid on a bike who was terrorizing my little 5 year old! I couldn't help but think of the Karate Kid. Bryan told me I should have just put a broom stick through his spokes! Ha!) Then, Saturday was "Jamboree", in which the boys had their first games and pictures. Here are a few pictures of Trevor's game. It was really hard to pick only a few! They are all so darned cute!

Iron Girl

We have had a jam packed few days, which I will blog all about later. But, I at least wanted to get these pictures posted! I ran the Iron Girl 5K with Kim, yesterday! It was so much fun! I actually finished in 32 minutes! (That's amazing for me!) Kim, thank you for running with me and encouraging me and pushing me...and for letting me beat you by one second! I hope we can still be friends! ; )

Back to...the zoo?

Yesterday, we went to the zoo for a "we-don't-have-to-go-back-to-school" day! It was really fun and we were practically the only ones there! (Me and my boys, Bryan's mom and dad, Kim and her boys, and Kim's mom.) Trevor's favorite part of the day was riding the "parasol"! Ha!

A Profound Thought...

Unger's Bible Dictionary says,
"God's blessing is accompanied with
that virtue which renders His blessing effectual..."

Gavin's Baptism!

"I love Jesus with all my heart!" "For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives."
Romans 6:4 NLT
