Bryan's Birthday

Our co-op field trip to the zoo was cancelled today due to...SNOW! (What the..!?) Yes, that's right. We got about two inches last night and more is expected tonight! So, since the boys are happily playing in a warm bath after playing outside in the cold snow, I thought I'd take this opportunity to play catch up! I know that I have been a bloggin' slacker, lately.
Here are some pictures from Bryan's birthday party a couple weeks ago. We went to dinner at The Rock. He has always wanted to give it a try, so we did! It was fun and yummy! The best part was when Bryan's brother, Chris, showed up from Boston to surprise him! (I was a nervous wreck waiting for him to show up and trying to pull off the surprise!) It worked, though! He was so surprised! They got to hang out all night! I think it was a great birthday present for him! Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us...Chris, Zach, Mom and Dad, Devin and Kelli, Gavin and Trevor...we love and appreciate you all!

They say the mind is the first to go...

I had a pregnancy moment last night when we went to my mom's house for dinner. After we ate we were all just sitting around visiting and watching a show on channel 663; the HD History Channel. After a while of that I started getting tired and yawning, so I looked over at the cable box and said, "Is it really only 6:63? It feels much later than that!" (It was actually almost 8:00. Ha!) And, yes, ladies and gentleman, I do homeschool my children.

Brothers

Trevor just informed me that he's "not excited to get a baby brother." He just wants "a small brother that's, like, 4"! Ha ha!

Half Way Done!

20 weeks and counting! I was going to post a belly picture for my "fans", but I haven't felt like getting prettied up for a picture. (I know, I know.) I will try to post one this week, though. The half way mark seems as good a time as any, huh!? I must say, I am definately starting to feel pregnant. Not that I haven't (morning sickness!) but I'm talking in the sense of more difficulty manuvuering and getting comfortable! (I've fallen and I can't get up!) I told Bryan that this means I'm going to have to get a pedicure soon, as I won't be able to reach my toes for much longer! Hee hee hee! I read somewhere that my weight gain should be at about 10 pounds right now. I haven't actually weighed myself in a while, but that's got to be wrong! Am I right, ladies!? Ha ha! (I kid.) On a side note, have any of you noticed that blogger's spell check isn't working, lately? I don't know about you, but for me that spells TROUBLE! So, forgive any spelling errors, eh? I gave it my best.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Bryan and I and Zach and Kim went to The Melting Pot (http://www.meltingpot.com/) for Valentine's Day, on Saturday night. (It's too hard for us to plan on going out on a week night, with Bryan's work schedule.) It was SO much fun! We always laugh so hard when we are all together! For those of you who don't know, The Melting Pot is a fondue restaurant. Kim and I thought it would be a fun experience for Valentine's Day, which it was. Although, Bryan and Zach said it was a "fon-don't"! Whatever. They're men, what do they know!? Kim said, "the next time we have a date night, we're leaving the guys at home with the kids!" Ha! We're all just kidding, of course. We had such a great time! Unfortunately, every picture I took of Zach and Kim, Zach had his eyes closed! (I think he couldn't handle the steam from the fondue pot! Ha!) This picture isn't the greatest of me, either, but it is what it is. (Am I glowing? I'm kidding!) Hopefully Kim will put some pictures up on her blog. Oh, and yeah...that is a piece of celery that Bryan is dipping in the cheese. I'm not sure what that's all about! Thank you all for a fun night!
Happy Valentine's Day!

A Quote for the Day...

"There is simplicity to life that can only be found in surrendering and reducing the many things that complicate life."
Kara Murphy; Homeschooling Today Magazine
This jumped out at me when I opened up my magazine, today.
I can really relate to it right now!

Field Trip

We went on a field trip to a local bakery, today, with our homeschool co-op. The kids got to learn how to make donuts and then they got to eat them! Yummmmm!

Lamentations 3:22-25

"The unfailing love of the Lord never ends! By His mercies we have been kept from complete destruction. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each day. I say to myself, 'The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in Him!'
The Lord is wonderfully good to those who wait
for Him and seek Him."

Quick Update

Wow! Has it really been a month since I last blogged? Well, I think I actually have a pretty good excuse this time. For those of you who don't know, I am now 13 weeks pregnant! (Whoo Hoo!) So, my excuse is that I have been really sick! I think whoever decided to call it "morning sickness" was a man! Ha! I have had ALL day sickness, really bad! The doctor finally put me on a prescription a couple weeks ago, which is enabling me to actually keep food down (yea!), but it completely knocks me out! I'm really hoping and praying that I will be coming out of this soon! So, as you can see, since I've hardly been able to get off the couch to take care of my family, blogging has not been on the top of my priority list! Ha! I do hope you all had a great Christmas and New Years! I will really try to get some pictures posted on here, soon. Hopefully it won't be another month! Although, in another month I might even be able to announce if we're having a boy or a girl! Stay tuned!

Trevor's 6th Birthday!

Trevor wanted to celebrate his birthday at Chuck E. Cheese's this year. The kids all had a great time, of course!
Best Buds, Trevor and Cami! Gavin, Justice, Sloan and Jafe...I think they were mesmerized by the terrible dancing on the big screen! Mmmm...cupcakes! Happy Birthday, my sweet boy! The grown-ups...having so much fun at Chuck E. Cheese's, too! Zach and Kim, you are such good sports to come along! "Are we done, yet?"

Time has really gotten away from me! I forgot to post pictures from Trevor's end of soccer season party! I guess there's not much to tell, but there are some cute pictures, of course!Trevor and Cami Sloan, Gavin, and Justice Trevor with his coach! Justice and Gavin had to snuggle to stay warm at the last game, it was so freezing! Trevor in goal. Look how foggy it was!

Wild West Fall Fest

Anikin Skywalker and Boba Fett (aka: Trevor and Gavin). I tried to get a more frontal view of Trevor's costume but I couldn't get him to NOT pose like that! Ha!
As you can probably imagine, it was nearly impossible to get a picture of all six boys together. This was the best I could do. (Justice, Gavin, Trevor, Cami, Jafeth, and Sloan.) "Cheeeeeese!" The only way I could get a picture of the two dinos...I had to grab them and give my camera to Kim! Didn't it turn out cute!? This is at my mom's house after Fall Fest. (The boys with my grandma, aunt, and mom.)

Monday, October 15, 2007

A couple weeks ago, the boys and I drove over to Chelan with Linda, so she could buy some pears for canning. We all had a great time! We stayed over night in one of John and Linda's time share condos, so we had all the comforts of home...and then some! We played Rummikub, watched a movie, ate pop corn, used the hot tub, the boys played racquetball and Gavin even went swimming (briefly!) in the outdoor pool! (Oh yes...and we also bought fruit at various fruit stands!) We were so blessed to wake up the morning after we got there to gorgeous weather! Everything was so beautiful, it made me want to paint a picture! Brrrrrrrrrr!!!

Way to go, Kim!

We went to Portland this past weekend to support Kim as she ran in the marathon! (That's 26.2 miles, for those who don't know! Wow!) She did great! We were all so proud of her! She and Keri have been working so hard and diligently training together for so long! It was beautiful and special to watch them accomplish their goal! (Click on Kim's link, to the right, for more details and pictures.) Way to go, Kim! You are such an inspiration! I love you!

Skate Park

The boys had been begging me to take them to a skate park, so I thought I should make it happen before fall really set in! Plus, there is a tennis court at the park, so that was a perk for me! I love tennis but I hadn't played at all this summer. I'm not really sure that what we did that day was called "tennis", though! I'm sure we must have looked crazy...Kim and me and all six boys on one court...balls flying everywhere...everyone running in all different directions swinging rackets... It was pretty hilarious! We were cracking up! Needless to say, it was a very fun "recess"!
